Umm...
N.E.R.D.
ah, Elvis week. The one thing I miss about Memphis.
We try to make it a habit to go to Memphis each year during this time but we will miss it this year. A couple of years ago we went to the Blues City to see the Dempsey's play and they had an elvis impersonator onstage with them that was one of the most hilarious things I've EVER seen! He sang all the words wrong and looked like he might drop dead at any given moment...those were good times. :)
"Try this little white pills, Cilla"...
Yeah....what Tina said!
I think we're suppossed to do a teambuilding activity at work by having drinks at the Flying Saucer and then go down and make fun of whomever is hanging out at the candlelight vigil during Death Week. Sounds fun!
Oh, now I really want that white Elvis jumpsuit for Colton.
By the way, Brooke. He's not listed on the 'official' festivities list but I know for a fact that Mike Sanchez is going to be in town for Elvis week. He's a blues/rockabilly/ jump artist from England and he's phenomenal! So if you happen to hear that he's performing somewhere, go see him...for my sake. :)
Nerd, schmerd..... ;)
Ashley, I looked too and saw that he is coming here next week. I listened to some of his stuff. I'll make sure and go see him if I can ever figure out where he's coming. :) Also, don't you like the Dempseys? I couldn't remember. Anywho, they are performing on the lawn of Graceland and then an Elvis movie will be played afterwards. How cool is that??
And speaking of Elvis impersonators, we are going to EP's Delta Kitchen to catch Jamie Aaron...can't remember his last name. But he does Elvis stuff and is really stinkin' awesome. He is the only one to have memorized and been able to sing every one of Elvis' songs ever recorded. I will definitely be in attendance.
Heather, too bad that suit is so expensive, cuz that would be so flippin' cute!
SOOOOOOO COOL! I LOVE the Dempsey's (and have a slight crush on their drummer) so that would be a blast, I'm sure! Doggone!
By the way, Brooke, is there a sushi/karaoke place you can think of? I'll put you in charge of finding us a 'venue' for our 'gig'. LOL I know Benihana used to have it on Fri night but I don't know about Saturday...
