1. Lucero was the last band I saw in 07' and the first in 08'. Yippee! Love them. That was one heck of a fun concert.

2. Getting a B in my dreadfully tough Anatomy and Physiology 2 class. And....whipping out the truth to the entire class including the professor when I kept getting evolution slapped in my face. Boo ya! Oh, and not barfing while dissecting kitty. :(

3. The Thursday night meeting September 21st when Tommy announced a number and asked if it meant anything to anyone and then told us it would to dad because it was his new pioneer number. Then came mom's announcement......followed by Tina's.....and ending with mine. Tommy was so sneaky sneaky not telling us beforehand.

4. The Spencer's bringing over all manner of goodies for our house from theirs when my foot was broken. This included a corner cabinet and Ficus tree. Not only do they give us these, but deliver them! Service with a smile too. :)

Joy, Jubilation, and Joey!!!!!!

Yes! That's me and #3 Joey Dorsey from the Memphis Tigers basketball team! Tina and I both have small crushes on him. Here's how this picture happened. Tina and I decided to go downtown to see a movie for the first time in forever. We saw 'I Am Legend' which was pretty dark but very good. So, we're walking to the theater, and I am decked out in my Tiger gear fully representin' with my shirt that you see here and my belt that says, "Go Tigers Go" over and over. And so this ginormously tall lurvly man walks by us and looks at me and says "Hey, good job representing the Tigers" and smiled and walked past us. So, I say, "YEAH-EH!" (wow-that was clever..yeesh) and as we're walking on, it finally clicks that, holy scnhikees, that was Joey Dorsey. And as I go to tell Tina this epiphany, I look at her and she has her mouth draped open and this goofy look on her face which needless to say certified that she knew who he was before I did. So then, we decide that we need to chase him down and get our picture with him. So we fly out the back door and begin the hunt. I'm still in my boot mind you. He crosses the street and makes it through a parking lot in record time, namely because he has 20' long, muscular, strong, built, rippling...oh um, sorry.....legs whose 2 steps equal about 20 of ours, maybe 25 for me because of my dumb hobble boot. Anyways, I just can't catch up and so I tell Tina to run after him and holler for him, but she is pretty worthless cuz she's giddy like a little school girl. So we lose him. We walk back in to get our movie tickets and hang our heads in shame and disappointment. Throughout the whole movie we would randomly look at each other and stick out our lips and say "Doh!" So then, we're walking out of the movie and guess who's getting a pretzel at the concession stand? Yes, that's right, it's our boy, Joey. Yippee! Commence dazed and confused stance for Tina again, except this time she manages to mumble to me, "Go get! Me want picture, too scared to get. You go talk" or well at least something along those lines and so I hobble up to him and say, "Joey, I'm gonna be obnoxious and ask if I can get my picture with you." Tina is standing safely at a distance next to a column. And he says, "Yeah, sure." So I start to talk to him like a retard. I almost called his coach Calimari(what we regularly call him) and fumbled words. But I call Tina over and she says, "I'll get your picture with him." And I say, "Ok, cool and then I'll get yours with him." And she says, "Heehee no...I'll just get yours hee hee" and he looks at her and says, "You don't want your picture with me?? :( " and she says,"Ok!" and thus the following......

I also asked him to sign a book for us. Tina and I walked away with our heads held high and our cheeks flush.

My Cast.My Cast.My Cast Has Been Fired.

Here are some of the shots I got of my cast signatures. It ended up being 45 strong. :)
Ok, I just got back from the Orthopaedic surgeon and he cut off my cast! A witness guy we know put it on and he was the one who cut if off today too. He told me that it would really tickle but uh, I had no idea how true those words would be as he started sawin'. Holy. Schnikees. I laughed out loud and kept apologizing to him but he just laughed at me. And I'm not even ticklish!(Mostly) I can't imagine how bad Tina would be.....And as he's cutting it off he's telling me the horror story of what it's gonna look like and how it's gonna be absolutely covered in dead skin and horrible looking. I'm terrified. But once he cuts it off, it's surprisingly "smoove" lookin and he even commented on how flaky free it was. "Why sank you doctah!" The leg hair growth was indeed frightening as suspected. But it was in the weird patches that mine and Tina's leg hair grows in cuz of our "Ingine" heritage. The foot is a lot smaller than the other and still really blue and beat up looking. And I am now restrained in the boot that must stay on at all times. Let's have a moment of silence for my cast. Ok, I'm over it now. Ha. I hated that dang thing! But no, the other foot is not broken Heddo. Thank. The. Lord. And we DID just talk about that! I would have died. But I have to wear this great super lace up dominatrixy loooking ankle brace. So I am looking like some hot stuff is what I'm basically trying to convey here. I took a ton of pictures of my cast before my appointment today that I will post later. I have another appointment in two weeks on the same day I have opted to take the NLN for entrance in to the nursing program. Is this a bad choice? Am I perhaps packing too much in to my crippled little day?? Maybe so...but that's how I hobble................
Um, this would be Aaron's reaction to seeing my foot out of my cast for the first time. What a friend. Haha

"It's Not Broken. Just Put Some Ice On It!"

Well, after:

1)just and I mean just discussing in class the effects of Vicodin and me opening my fat trap to say that I'd never had any prescribed to me for any reason

2) bragging openly about having never broken a bone(except my collar bone(clavicle-YES! I have learned something in school!) when I was a wee moose)

3) secretly being envious of anyone that broke a limb in school that got to get a "cool" cast that people could sign and what not

and

4) thinking that getting my time was actually somewhat easy the first two months......

I broke my dang foot. And the extremely exciting story of how it happened follows. I was over at a friends house, sitting on the carpeted floor indian style, watching Grey's Anatomy, and I (stupid me) went to stand up the same way I have done for years by starting on the outside of my feet and then rolling them in to a flat position without using my hands, and heard (and um felt) my bone crack. Yes, that's right. I broke my foot standing up from the floor. So now I have this great tie dye cast on my dumb foot. I broke my 5th metatarsal and as my orthopaedic surgeon said while looking at my x-rays, I "got it good girl!" Yee haw!

So now, I am stuck at the house and I am pretty much totally reliant on everyone in my poor family(mostly poor Tina) and everyday tasks have become annoying chores. I conjured up a way of washing my hair the other day that was I'm pretty sure worse than any workout video I've ever done, especially under the influence of the healing cuckoo crack drug they've given me.And I actually got extemely excited when I was able to shave my legs. It's the small things....

I can't carry anything anywhere because I have these crutches I have to tote along with me everywhere. Going to class is one big hoot and a half. There is all this dang construction going on and they've closed off mostly all the walkways and forced us all to go a bazillion miles out of our way.(Yessssssss) I actually attempted hauling my 3 ginormo books in their big ol bag along with my purse to class the other day and had to stop and rest 4 times before reaching my final destination. On the way however, a man was rolling closer and closer to me on the walkway in a handy golf cart and proceeded to 1)not look to have any sort of handicap other than sheer laziness 2)get insanely close to me and my crutches and 3)fly past me without looking back. Chivalry pivalry....Once I finally made it to class, I was so hot and exhausted I was ready to go back home.

I've been able to use the ever so handy electric shopping carts at both the Kroger and Sams Club. I dunno if any of you have ever hooked yourself up with one of those things, but they are sweet! They move at a tortoises pace, but are quite useful.

I must say, that the most exciting part of this whole ordeal is imagining what my leg will look like when I get the cast taken off. WOOF. As a friend said last night, "It'll be like a hairy cuff on your lower leg!" Whoo hoo! :-/

What a Slacker!!

Alright. It's definitely time for a new one so I thought I'd let ya'll know what I'm up to lately. First of all, the assembly hall project is officially over. Have I mentioned how incredible it was to be there working? This project has turned me in to some sort of crazy wanting to go everywhere and help out woman. I just simply loved being around all those good hard working people. And seeing it all come together felt like some sort of crazy modern day miracle. Who would have ever thought that our assembly hall could EVER look this incredible? I mean, it is just stunning. No more 70's ghetto! :D

Secondly, and completely off that subject, I saw Matt Kearney a few days ago. I love this guy. Tina quoted our favorite song he does in a post recently. L.u.r.v.l.y. He put on a great show aside from making eyes at every girl there which tends to annoy me. Meiko opened up for him and this chick is utterly fantastic! All of us bought her cd and I have listened to it over and over again. And I got to see Griffin House of whom we also love immensely. He came to the Hard Rock Cafe on Beale. He is fantabulous. The whole show was on a donation for breast cancer research basis. It was great aside from highly obnoxious couple seated to my right that kept screaming "H yeah! Yeah Griffin! Whoo!" They also knew every single song and had to sing along and as soon as one started they'd holler out the name of it like none of the rest of us there knew who the heck he even was. But he put on a great show and I got him to sign my autograph book and Brandon and I got our picture with him. He's super nice and seemed to be slightly annoyed with obnoxious couple. And mid show he announced that he had to take a quick break because he was about to pee his pants. Good stuff!

Most of you know, Tina and I have acquired yet another dog. Whoops. But we could not help ourselves from scooping her up. We were leaving work at the assembly hall one day and in the Sears parking lot, we see this little puppy trotting behind these two guys who were extremely annoyed with her presence and proceeded to kick at her every so often when she got too close. And it was a particularly hot day, and any little piece of shade that she could find, she would fall over in and sit for a little while only to get up and run after the guys again when they got to far away. But anywho, we scooped her up and took her home. Turns out she had the non contagious kind of mange which had caused most of her hair to fall out and she was skin and bones. So after two vet visits and about 5 prescriptions later she is well on her way to recovery. We also bought her a sweet little doggy sweater because since she had no hair, she shivered all the time. She's very adorable. We are currently trying to house train her. And we still have Fizgig, Mr Brister, Lil P or whatever pops in my head to call him at the time......and he is getting to be a horse. I mean, this dog has the hugest feet I've ever seen on even a grown dog! But he is blossoming in to one sweet little boy. :) And then of course we have Posey who rules the roost. She is queen bee and is the best baby ever. I know it's probably far too many for our house, but I sure love all my babies. Awww.

OH! And last but certainly not least, yesterday was our last official day to use our nasty decaying cats in lab. We had a test on veins, arteries, and the heart. You can just imagine how fun that was. I had to lean in all close to the various cats to see which vein/artery was pinned. I have never been happier to see something go. I'm pretty sure the smell is etched in my nostril hairs......

Smelly Cat Oh Smelly Cat, How I Hate Dissecting You....

So today in Anatomy and Physiology II, I officially started my two week long process of cat dissection. Our professor informed us that they paid a little more for our cats to have them already skinned. We workin' high class at STCC! We have to work in groups of 4 or 5 per cat and one of the girls I got put in a group with is currently in her third attempt at this class. We decided to name our cat Pat because at this point, we haven't felt around for "holes" and "protrusions" and what not to determine it's sex. And now that we've gotten in to it, it's very easy to tell a boy from a girl.... oh well. I simply have never understood why dissection is necessary. I would SO much prefer to just study the very handy and accurate pictures we have in our books and lab manuals. The sound and smell are worse than the actual cat laying there in front of you. All I could think of was that cartoon movie (highly depressing)(Ah haa! Plague Dogs) about the animals that get captured to have research done on them and they escape and are forced to be running from the lab people the whole time only to almost be caught in the end but drown instead.

Today, after yet another examination of said cat, I am happy to inform you, it's a boy. Our teacher informed us today that our cat's thymus is so lovely and large! Yippee.... Anyways, there will be a test on the cats next tuesday when Mr Baki will have placed stick pins in various organs on the different cats that we have to identify. And this goes on for a long time too. We get to investigate all the different organ systems in the cat.

And to think that I complained about the dang frog I had to dissect in grade school! WOOF! Or should I say........meow..........
